This cottage-based knitwear business is owned and operated by partners Lynne Pascoe and Lester Wood. Sheep’s Clothing currently produces traditional knitwear for the wholesale giftware and craft market, supplying regional craft and gallery shops that meet seasonal tourist market demands. The company also offers historical reproduction knitwear items for a wholesale craft and apparel retail market.

The existing product line includes traditional knits (fisherman’s sweaters, mittens, toques etc.), a line of specialty knitwear specific to the highland wear market, (kilt hose and hose tops for pipe bands and highland dancers). and reproductions of historic clothing for living history museums and reenactors. These kilt hose are custom-made, based on customer measurements and tartan matching. In addition, niche market opportunities have been identified for boiled wool products, hand embroidered jackets and vests.

Sheep’s Clothing is supported by a large team of skilled knitters who develop and use specific techniques as required by each project. Pulling on the experience of the many talented knitters across the Island, we pride ourselves on honoring the cottage industry method of production. Each item is individually crafted either by hand or machine.

Sheep’s Clothing serves the local retail market through the Nova Scotia Designer Craft Council shows and our online storefront.
